Apollos Moon Shot AR is an entertainment and educational augmented reality application for Android mobile devices. This utility is made to accompany the documentary mini series of the same name.
One small step
This application was made in cooperation with Smithsonian Channel as an addition to its famous six part documentary Apollos Moon Shot. Users can watch various milestone events integrated into the real world surrounding with the help of augmented reality technology. By the way, you may also experience Moon landing in AR using the TIME Immersive app.
The utility offers several short but impressive demonstrations like the launch of the Saturn V rocket, the interior of the Lunar Command Module of Apollo 11 or a virtual portal to the Moon. You can move your smartphone or tablet around to explore the surroundings. It is also possible to take a selfie in the authentic spacesuit and share it on social media.
Besides AR videos, there are two games where players have to navigate to the Moon and successfully land the module on its surface. Additionally, you may read, watch and learn a lot of related materials. Further, you can test your knowledge by taking quizzes.
