Boxee is a simple Android application designed to manage the Boxee Box media streaming device. The utility fully replaces the remote control gadget.
Getting started
At the start, you need to synchronize the application with your Boxee Box. To do this, your smartphone and media center need to be within the coverage area of the same Wi-Fi network. It is possible to specify the host name or IP address as well as the port of your device, then enter a password and establish a connection.
Controls
On the main page of the application, control buttons are displayed, including a directional pad and playback control. It is possible to start, stop, rewind, and replay music or video tracks as well as adjust the volume. The built-in equalizer allows you to customize the sound quality according to your taste.
In addition, the application has a virtual keyboard that allows you to enter the name of the content for search. There is an option to look for media files using tags and keywords. Please note that this utility is currently outdated and does not perform the declared functions. The developers have stopped supporting it.
