FDOWN is an Android application that offers a Facebook video downloader service. It is possible to save content from well-known social media by simply copying and pasting the link into the appropriate window.
General information
This unofficial utility is primarily designed for Facebook video downloading. According to the developers, it is desirable to use the app as a companion to Firefox or Chrome. FDOWN is a cross-platforming software but it does not integrate with the Safari browser.
Usually, all videos are saved to the Downloads folder on the memory of your mobile device. There is an option to download Facebook Live videos but only after they finish streaming.
It is worth noting that FDOWN does not store videos and does not keep copies of saved files. All content is hosted on Facebook’s servers only. Also, the app does not keep track of the download histories, so users can remain anonymous.
How to use
On your Facebook feed or timeline, you have to tap the Share button under any video and then click Copy Link. Further you need to paste the URL and choose the Download icon. You can select normal quality or HD to start downloading the clip.
If you get an error, then check if the video is public or private. This application allows you to download only the content that is freely available. Please note that the clip can start playing instead of saving. In this case, it is necessary to press the Save As button.
