It is possible to create persistent chat rooms for projects, departments or topics. Similar to Signal, users can also engage in one-on-one messaging for direct communication. Besides, conversations are stored and accessible, making it easy to revisit past discussions.
Media and extensions
The app supports file sharing within any chat, including documents, images and links. Team members can collaborate on shared resources without switching to other tools. Moreover, it is possible to search for any content within conversations by keywords and dates.
The messenger integrates with a variety of services such as GitHub, Jira, Trello and more. You are able to check updates from platforms your team uses directly into your chat rooms. Thus, supervisors keep everyone informed without requiring switching between multiple utilities.
However, it is worth noting that HipChat is no longer supported by the developers. The last update was made in 2020. Although there are APK files available in unofficial third party sources, it is not advisable to install them.
