Kardia is an Android application designed to work with FDA-cleared KardiaMobile, KardiaMobile 6L, or KardiaBand personal EKG devices. This utility allows users to record medical-grade EKGs, share heart data with their doctors remotely, and keep track of their health history.
How to use
The app is a companion for a personal EKG monitor, a small device that connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth. It is possible to take a 30-second reading on the go. You just need to place your fingers on the two sensors and wait for the results to appear on your screen. Please note that this gadget does not require wires, patches, or gels.
Opportunities
It is possible to detect the most common arrhythmias and provides an immediate result from Kardia’s Instant Analysis of normal, possible atrial fibrillation, bradycardia, or tachycardia. Users can choose to send the recording to their physician or to one of AliveCor’s partners for a clinician review by a cardiologist.
The app also offers a KardiaCare membership. There are unlimited history and cloud storage of all recordings, automatic ECG sharing, as well as a monthly summary report to share with a doctor.
