The app was designed specifically for the people who live in the Indian state of West Bengal. The main audience, however, is the members and supporters of the nationalistic Bharatiya Janata Party.
Being one of two major political powers in India, BJP is the primary opposition in the Parliament of India, Lok Sabha. In contrast, The West Bengal Assembly is dominated by The All India Trinamool Congress. Modipara aims to help to rally Bharatiya Janata supporters in West Bengal. To achieve this goal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the state and called every follower to install and use the app.

With help of Modipara, BJP expects to increase the number of its supporters in West Bengal up to two crore which is equal to 20 million people or more than 20 percent of the state population.
