My Epic is an Android application created in collaboration with the Vail Resorts company, which owns more than forty ski resorts located in the United States. Users can view route maps, track their location, issue mobile passes, get lift tickets, and receive alerts.
Resorts
This service is available at all ski resorts of the company named above, for example, Beaver Creek, Kirkwood, Northstar California, Snow Creek, Wildcat, Hidden Valley, and many others. The utility contains interactive maps of routes with detailed information. You can view the difficulty, status, time of ascent, etc.
Location and notifications
It is possible to track your location using GPS navigation. The utility stores the history of your movements, including ascents and descents, respectively. You may view statistics in the form of charts and graphs.
In addition, you can monitor the movement of lifts and determine the approximate waiting time. It is possible to issue a mobile pass as well as tickets and store them directly on your device. This way you can undergo contactless scanning upon entering the ski lifts even if your smartphone is in your pocket.
Additionally, the utility sends notifications to clients about the status of lifts, weather conditions, and so on. Direct access to ski patrol during emergencies is provided. There is a separate tab with information from surveillance cameras. You can monitor the state of the snow cover and the weather in real-time mode. Moreover, the application allows you to pay the resort fee.
