Alfred Camera is a Windows application that allows users to convert smartphones to surveillance devices. There are tools for enabling motion detection alerts and recording suspicious activity to a cloud storage server.
How it works
You are instructed to run the software on two devices: one will act as a camera and another – as a viewer. There is support for Windows computers as well as for iOS and Android smartphones. It is necessary to log into the personal account on all devices to connect them together.
Similar to EpocCam, users can place the camera anywhere in the house and start watching the live video feed. An option to switch between the front and rear sensors is included. Moreover, it is possible to change image brightness and zoom level.
Please note that the free version of Alfred Camera has limited functionality and periodically displays advertisements on the screen.
Motion detection
This feature allows you to get notifications when there is any movement in front of the camera. The sensitivity and schedule of motion detection are adjustable.
Captured clips with suspicious activity can be accessed via the web interface. Users are able to delete unwanted files or download videos to the hard drive.
