AsfTools is a Windows application for working with video clips in the ASF format. There are instruments for splitting and joining individual files. Moreover, users are able to adjust the resulting bitrate, frame dimensions and aspect ratio.
Editing
The first step is to select the source video clip in the embedded file explorer. After that you can choose the required operation from the menu on the left side of the main window. It is possible to cut and trim imported files to remove unwanted fragments.
Tools for repairing corrupted and damaged videos are provided. Users are able to recover lost chunks and make the resulting files seekable. The Shrinker module is intended for removing blank data from the package to reduce the output size.
Conversion
You can transform any ASF clip to the common AVI format. Similar to Miro Video Converter, the resolution, bitrate and aspect ratio are customizable. Additionally, there is an option to extract the audio from the source file and save it as a WAV track.
Preferences
The Settings menu contains a checkbox for enabling stream resynchronization during repair attempts. Users are able to configure warnings on size mismatch and allow the joining of files with incompatible bitrates as well.
