BannedStory is a Windows program that allows users to create content for MapleStory. It is possible to design new characters with different skills, hairstyles and clothing. Similar to GameSalad, there are instruments for drawing complex maps and planning custom missions. Please note that Adobe AIR is necessary for launching the application.
Character design
After starting the utility you can add layers with skills, pets, clothing items and other elements to the project. There is an extensive image collection that contains all clipart from the original game. It is possible to filter the library by gender, class and other attributes.
The skin tone is adjustable. Moreover, users are able to create unique animations for their characters. Instruments for inserting chat balloons with customizable text blocks are included as well.
Layer management
You can hide individual parts of the picture. Additionally, there are tools for applying visual filters and effects to the workspace. Layers can be rearranged to better fit the project.
Export
An option to convert finished characters and maps to the MapleStory code format is provided. Users are able to copy the text and paste it into the game engine to activate new content.
