Battery EEPROM Works is a specialized program for Windows designed to repair, reset, and manage EEPROM data in laptop batteries. Targeted toward technicians and advanced users.
Reprogramming
It is possible to read, edit and rewrite data within smart batteries. This includes modifying serial numbers, cycle counts, full charge capacity and manufacturing information. Technicians can correct corrupted firmware or reset programmed lockouts to restore device usability.
The app includes specialized functions to unlock security protections on common battery controllers such as BQ20857, BQ20z series and Atmel chips. Once open, you can clear permanent failure flags or reset data to factory defaults, especially useful when dealing with issues that report zero percent charge.
Diagnostics
Scans provide a comprehensive view of battery health with voltage readings, current, temperature and cycle counts. The diagnostics help you identify whether the problem is hardware-related or fixable via EEPROM intervention. The utility also logs real-time SMBus/I2C traffic to troubleshoot communication issues. As for monitoring your power level, you may try BatteryMon, known for its lightweight interface.
