Canon ScanGear Toolbox is a Windows software for interacting with scanners made by Canon. There is support for the LiDE and CanoScan series of products. It is important to mention that a corresponding driver is necessary for the correct functioning of all features.
Main functionality
The main interface contains a button for quickly scanning the source and printing a copy on a connected printer. Alternatively, users can send images over email as well as save them as PDF files for viewing in Cool Reader or another similar app. It is possible to automatically convert scanned text documents to editable form by utilizing the provided optical character recognition module.
Scan parameters
You are able to manually adjust the resulting image resolution. Moreover, there are separate modes for scanning grayscale photos, magazine pages and color images. The input paper size is customizable.
A slider for tuning the brightness is provided. Users can preview the results before performing a full scan. The Settings menu contains drop-down menus for manually changing functions assigned to physical control buttons on the scanner.
