Cisco UCS Emulator is a Windows software for working with unified computing systems from Cisco. You can run it in a virtual machine without any physical UCS hardware. The program is intended for training, testing, and demonstration purposes. It is possible to interact with the emulator as if it were a real system. There are other applications for configuring Cisco servers such as Cisco DNA Center.
Interface
The Control Panel section contains tools for starting, stopping, resetting and configuring the emulator. Users are able to add, remove and edit individual components in the included Device Manager. Additionally, there is a web interface for performing various tasks on emulated systems.
You are able to view detailed operational logs, real time statistics, previous security events, registered errors and other server details. This information can be accessed from the command line interface as well.
Limitations
This emulator does not support all features and functions of the real hardware device. For example, it is impossible to connect to external hard drives or remote network directories. Moreover, users cannot emulate the full performance of a server in a virtualized environment.
