Communicator Ext is a Windows utility for managing and keeping track of energy usage through professional power meters made by EIG. There are instruments for enabling alarms, configuring communication settings and updating internal device firmware.
Monitoring
After starting the program users can connect all active meters via serial port, Ethernet or modem. Real time information about the current, voltage, power and energy consumption is displayed in the main window. It is possible to view this data in a variety of formats, including tables, graphs and charts.
Like in Envision, you are able to detect various trends and identify areas where energy can be saved. Moreover, tools for analyzing power quality parameters such as harmonics, sages and swells are provided. This information is helpful for troubleshooting potential issues.

Meter configuration
With the help of this application users can set up custom email notifications to be alerted in case of problems. There is an option to update internal firmware on remote power meters to fix known bugs and add new functionality. Flexible connection settings are available as well.
