DX10 Fixer is a Windows utility for resolving rendering issues in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. There are tools for enhancing the compatibility of the game engine with DirectX 10. Moreover, you can enable better antialiasing and improved shadows. Please note that DX10 Fixer is a paid app. There is no free trial version.
Initial configuration
The main window contains a drop down menu for selecting the FSX system edition. Users are able to specify the location of the main game folder. There is an option to choose the level of antialiasing as well.
Other programs for enhancing the performance of Microsoft Flight Simulator X such as Xtreme FSX are available for download.
Fixer settings
You can resolve visual issues with legacy scenery and aircraft built with the FS9 SDK. Instruments for enhancing the shadows by softening the edges, adjusting the color and increasing the resolution are provided.
It is possible to fix transparent objects such as bridges so they will not disappear at night. Additional navigation lights can be added to all aircraft models.
Users are able to remove graphical glitches in the water as well as improve the quality of sunset and moonset rendering. There are tools for enhancing weather effects like rain and fog.
After applying all fixes you can start the game and test the updated engine. An option to rollback the changes in case of technical issues is included.
