Font Awesome is a collection of scalable vector icons for Windows. The provided graphic assets can be formatted using CSS properties, so you are able to set their color, size, shadow, and much more. The latest version of the distribution includes over six hundred and ten icons.
General notes
Inside the package, you will find the items you need. The css folder contains the core styling file as well as style options, namely as Solid, Regular, Light, Duotone, and Thin. The web fonts directory provides you with all of the typefaces that the CSS items depend on. If you want to simply personalize your folders, you may try another program called Lovely Folder.
To add the icons to your project, you have to copy the aforementioned folders into the static assets directory, or to another location of your choice. It is important to include the core styling file and the individual styles you want to use. Please note that you can remove any CSS and web font items you do not plan on using.
Older version compatibility
Another advantage of using this icon distribution is its backward compatibility. This means if your project is using an older version of Font Awesome, you do not have to update any asset names, as the translation of titles, style syntax, and CSS references is done automatically.
