Google Docs Offline is an official extension for Windows developed by a well-known tech corporation. Users can work with their documents and projects without the internet and synchronize all the changes when connecting to the network.
Offline access
Thanks to this extension, it becomes possible to edit documents without internet access. This helpful feature allows users to continue making changes in case of unexpected network connection loss. The tool is not only suitable for working with Google Docs files, but also for Sheets and Slides projects.
All changes are automatically saved on the device, to be exact, your desktop or laptop. You can synchronize newly written texts or designed presentations after establishing network connection and seemingly continue the editing process.
Nuances
At the time of writing this review, the application is only integrated with Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Therefore, in order to open your projects offline, you need to run one of these browsers. What is more, the extension does not support collaborative editing, as you have to be online to work together on one project in real-time. Advanced formatting options are not available as well.
