HWiNFO is a robust diagnostics program for Windows that allows you to retrieve detailed information about the hardware components of your computer. It is regarded as a reliable and feature-rich system monitoring utility in the development community.
Overview
After launch, you are presented with a well-organized and intuitive graphical interface that enables you to explore various sections of your system. For instance, you can see details about the central processor, motherboard, memory, bus, video adapter, network, audio devices, and ports.
It is necessary to point out that you are able to copy data to the Clipboard or save it as a report in CSV, XML, HTML, or MTHML format. Similar to CPU Z, it is possible to get an overview on the sensors and monitor current, minimum, maximum and average CPU usage.
Configuration and performance
When it comes to configuration, the main window may be minimized to the system tray area at startup. The application can be set to run at every OS boot, and automatically check for update releases online. Furthermore, you have the option to select the drive scan and CPU clock measurement mode.
The software requires low to moderate central processor and memory resources, so it does not affect the overall performance of the computer. During the testing stage, we have not encountered any problems, since HWiNFO did not crash or display error messages.
