Interactive Circle of Fifths is a Windows web platform that displays the relationships between the 12 notes of the chromatic scale. Additionally, users can visualize various diatonic chords for a given key.
Interactive diagram
The main page contains a circle that represents the scale degrees along with corresponding roman numerals. There is a middle section with 12 keys in the Major or Minor mode. Finally, the relative numbers are located in the center of the diagram.
You are able to click on any of the 12 keys to select the tonic. A sharp is added for each successive note going clockwise starting from C. The program highlights the number of flats in each key signature as well. Moreover, it is possible to display diatonic chords for any given note.
There are other utilities for learning how to play music such as Chordify.
Intervals
Users can move in both directions on the circle of fifths. Tools for generating major and minor chords with a custom number of semitones are provided. This is helpful for transposing individual notes onto each other without any sound distortions.
