ION Setup is a robust program for Windows that assists power engineers and facility managers in setting up and verifying settings on PowerLogic meters. It provides an intuitive graphical environment for configuring, analyzing, and optimizing energy usage.
Initial configuration
On first launch, the Network Builder wizard will open. Thus, you can quickly and easily set up and configure a first installation consisting of sites, groups, and devices. Different communication methods are available, namely Serial, Modem, and Ethernet.
Then, you have the possibility to get an overview of the created system. The graphical interface includes a menu bar, toolbar, and a status bar. The left and right lanes are reserved for viewing the network and its contents respectively.
Advanced parameters
If you are a lead engineer, it is recommended to choose desired options before granting access to members of your team. For instance, you can select the startup mode, configure confirmation dialogues, create groups, and set up password protection.
When it comes to main functionality, there are two modes of operation. Single Device allows you to communicate with and adjust one product, while the Network approach lets you work with multiple meters and installations. In case you need to develop HMI interfaces, you may try a utility called Vijeo Designer Lite SP1.
