KP Typing Tutor is a special program for Windows designed to help you improve typing speed and accuracy. Whether you are a beginner or simply want to refine your skills, it offers a structured platform for improving your keyboard prowess.
Overview
The graphical interface consists of a window in which you can pick several options. After launch, you are able to select the preferred profile between Default QWERTY, Lithuanian Learner, Right or Left Handed Dvorark, and many others.
What is more, you have the possibility to create new ones. This is done by specifying the user and course name, as well as by tweaking the text and keyboard layouts, and configuring miscellaneous parameters.
As for the latter, you can enable different speeds, highlight typed letters, toggle sounds, etc.
Learn how to type
The main menu allows you to start a new course or game, and sentence, paragraph or free drills. You can also change the profile when you want. During a session, you will see which finger should be used to type a particular letter, via two windows that represent the left and right hand.
Once you have finished a course or drill, you have the option to view statistics which detail the keys and words typed per minute, along with the accuracy percentage. After exiting the software, you can see the session and total practice time. Alternatively, you may try a similar tool called Captain Keyboard.
