MicSwitch is a Windows program that provides users with a complete control over their microphone for quick toggling and management of audio input.
Hotkeys
It is possible to assign custom global hotkeys for muting and unmuting transducers instantly. The shortcuts work across all apps, giving control regardless of whether the user is gaming, on a video call or streaming. Toggling the microphone with a single keypress eliminates the need to manually adjust settings within each individual service.
There are push-to-talk and push-to-mute modes, allowing you to communicate only when necessary. The former ensures the microphone remains muted until the assigned key is pressed, preventing unwanted background noise. Conversely, the latter helps to temporarily silence their device while speaking normally when the hotkey is not held.
Indicators
To make sure you always know your transcoder status, there are visual and audio notifications when the mic is toggled. The utility displays an on-screen overlay or taskbar icon change when the device is muted or unmuted. Additionally, you have an option to enable sound alerts that play a distinct cue when switching the microphone.
