MultiSpec is a Windows software for viewing and processing geographical information. It is a valuable tool for researchers, educators and professionals in various fields. Instruments for contrast stretching and histogram equalization are provided.
Main purpose
Using this application you can open multispectral geospatial photos in the BIL, EXW, HDF, JPG, PNG, NTF and PIX file formats. Moreover, there is support for thematic and shape files as well.
It is possible to identify the coordinates of any specific point by hovering over it with the mouse cursor. Users are able to choose the correct measurement units from the drop down menu in the main window.
Other utilities for working with geospatial data such as QGIS Girona are available for download.
Image processing
There are tools for automatic unsupervised classification to detect patterns and clusters within raw geospatial photos. This functionality helps in understanding the distribution of different land cover types. Alternatively, you can train the program using labeled samples to sort pixels in a picture and perform manual classification.
Users are able to enhance the visual quality of source images. Flexible options for contrast stretching, spatial filtering and histogram equalization are included.
