NeatReceipts is a Windows utility that allows users to reduce paper clutter and streamline bookkeeping by storing digital copies of receipts or other documents on the computer. This functionality is helpful for mobile workers, travelers and small businesses.
Scanning process
After starting the application you can select any connected scanner from the drop down menu. There is support for all TWAIN compliant devices. Additionally, it is possible to use a specialized first party scanner from Neat to speed up the operation.
Like in CamScanner, instruments for configuring automatic image cropping and rotation are included in this utility. Moreover, users are able to adjust the output resolution up to 600 dpi. There are color and grayscale scanning modes.
Editing tools
Imported images are automatically analyzed with the help of the integrated optical character recognition module. You can extract and edit various information such as the transaction date, amount, vendor name, category, payment method, tax amount, etc.
All receipts are organized into a searchable database that is accessible from the computer or from the cloud. This way users can monitor the changes from anywhere in the world to keep track of the business.
