Nintendont is a Windows utility that allows retro console enthusiasts to bypass the limitations of GameCube mode on Wii and Wii U, booting game backups directly from USB drives or SD memory cards. It is possible to expand the display image to the modern widescreen size.
Console preparation
The software can be installed to the device as any other Homebrew application. Users are able to softmod the console and boot into a customized environment, removing artificial restrictions of official GameCube mode.
There are other programs for tweaking internal Wii and GameCube parameters such as CustomizeMii.
Gaming experience
You can load ROMs with legacy titles directly from USB drives or SD cards. Additionally, it is possible to connect a wide range of input devices such as Xbox 360 gamepads, Wiimotes and even classic NES controllers.
Instruments for side by side multiplayer are available. Moreover, users are able to utilize the microphone integrated into Wii for games like Animal Crossing City Folk. There are advanced customization options such as video scaling and button remapping as well.
