Parkdale is a disk speed benchmarking program for Windows developed to measure the read and write performance of various storage devices.
Modes
FileAccess mode simulates real-world file read and write operations to test disk performance. The app creates a file and measures the time required to evaluate it under standard system conditions. Such an approach gives more realistic results than synthetic benchmarks.
Another option, QuickAccess, provides a streamlined test that delivers quick throughput numbers for any selected drive. Users can quickly compare different drives or storage media. The results show transfer speeds in megabytes per second, displaying a clear summary of key details.
The last method performs low-level benchmarks that bypass the file system and interact directly with the hardware. You can read and write raw data blocks to reveal drive bottlenecks or controller issues. This mode is especially helpful for advanced users troubleshooting underperforming.
Command line
There is command-line functionality, allowing you to run scheduled or scripted tests without launching the graphical interface. IT administrators can automate performance checks, integrate results into reports or run benchmarks as part of a larger system audit.
Features
- just like HWMonitor, the app runs without installation;
- possible to measure NAS and shared drive speeds;
- the dashboard displays drive’s capacity, type and volume label;
- free to download and use;
- compatible with modern Windows versions.
