PDFgear is an official program for Windows that provides a wide range of tools to manage PDF files. Users can edit, convert, compress, merge, split, sign, annotate and organize their documents.
Working with PDFs
It is possible to convert text files into PDFs. The program supports transcoding Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents. In addition users can export images to printable format in order to produce them on paper with high quality and sharpness.
Once you upload a document on PDFgear, you are able to edit selected pages, mark certain areas, insert pictures, add or remove texts and save changes. It is possible to merge and split documents to manage your projects. And last but not least, there is an option to leave a watermark on your documents to protect your digital properties.
The viewer allows you to display the content as you like, choose the orientation and expand the file to full screen. You can remove frames, extract pages and leave comments under any text or image.
Open source
PDFgear differs from similar programs like PDFescape by being an open source software. This means that you do not need to pay for provided tools. There is no ad-supported content or trial period, the editor, converter, compressor and viewer are available for free. On top of that, the program does not add a watermark when you export files to other platforms or just save them for offline access.
