Phoenix FD is a Windows application for creating fluid dynamic simulations. Seamless integration with several popular 3D graphics editors like Autodesk 3ds and Maya is supported. It is important to mention that VRay for Maya is necessary for the correct functioning of all features.
Effect design
After starting the utility users can select one of the available templates. It is possible to simulate realistic fire, water, fog and other natural effects. There are instruments for adding shadows, reflections and custom lighting sources to the scene. The color gamma and white balance are adjustable as well.
Please note that Phoenix FD is distributed on a commercial basis. The development is currently in beta stage.
Advanced capabilities
You can generate water, grid and particle textures. They are used for shading objects and imitating various materials. Moreover, tools for processing the meshes of simulated liquids are provided.
The software lets users create complex scripts to automate repetitive tasks and speed up the design process. This functionality is helpful for working on large projects with multiple similar effects.
