RouteConverter is a Windows program designed for editing, viewing and converting GPS data in various formats. Mainly oriented towards outdoor enthusiasts, cyclists, hikers and geocachers, it is possible to manage tracks, waypoints and routes.
Creating destinations
By launching an interactive editor, users can modify routes and waypoints directly on the map. The app displays detailed coordinate information, elevation data and point descriptions. There is an option to split, join, rearrange and reverse routes with a few mouse clicks.
Moreover, you may view your GPS coordinates overlaid on maps like OpenStreetMap, Bing or custom tile services. There are built-in tools to automatically optimize route paths based on vehicle type or walking profiles. You can recalculate distances, correct elevations, and eliminate unnecessary points to simplify navigation. It is possible to export simplified or segmented destinations for specific devices or travel needs.
Titles
On top of everything else, the utility enables you to edit and manage extensive metadata such as names, comments, symbols and categories for waypoints. There are importing and exporting options in CSV and ITN. In other words, you are able to significantly simplify organizing and classifying GPS.
