Shadowsocks is a Windows utility for rerouting all incoming and outgoing traffic through a remote server to bypass corporate or regional network restrictions. It is similar to
Spotflux VPN and other VPN services, but requires fewer system resources.
Main functionality
This software lets you create a virtual proxy tunnel to hide the real IP address and bypass network restrictions. All traffic between the remote location and the computer is automatically encrypted to prevent data leaks and packet interceptions.
Configuration
Users can add new proxy servers by clicking on the system tray icon. It is necessary to enter the IP address, connection port and password. There is support for several modern encryption protocols such as AES 256 and ChaCha20. Additionally, an option to specify a custom timeout interval is provided.
It is possible to change keyboard shortcuts for toggling the system proxy, allowing clients from LAN, opening the log window and performing other tasks. Moreover, you are able to configure hotkeys for quickly switching between multiple servers.
