SpaceSniffer is a Windows software for identifying and removing unwanted files from HDDs, SSDs, USB Flash drives and memory cards. Users are able to display the contents of a logical partition in the form of a size map for easier navigation.
Scan process
After starting the program you can choose any of the available storage volumes to analyze its contents. All located folders and packages are automatically placed on the visual chart. The scale of each item depends on its size, providing a clear picture of the partition.
It is recommended to upload large files to a cloud storage platform like Amazon Drive to save even more disk space on the local computer.
File management
Users are able to zoom in and out of the resulting diagram. This is helpful for getting granular insights into the underlying folder structure. The file list is sortable by name, size, modification date, location and other attributes. Additionally, it is possible to filter the graph to view only packages with a specific extension.
Unwanted files can be quickly deleted or moved to another partition to free up disk space. Alternatively, there is an option to compress rarely used data into ZIP archives for long term storage.
