Spine is a Windows application that provides an efficient workflow for creating custom 2D animations and integrating them into video game engines. There are instruments for building complex skeletal structures. It is important to mention that the free trial version of Spine has limited capabilities.
Design process
After starting the application you can create a blank project or import data from other graphics editors like Adobe Photoshop. The next step is to configure individual skeleton elements and change the draw order. It is possible to add custom events by specifying the integer, float point and command string.
Users are able to control the timing and speed of individual animation components to generate fluid animations. There are instruments for inserting additional skeleton elements into the workspace as well.
Tools for creating and modifying vector curves are included. The integrated graph allows you to automatically interpolate neighboring frames to generate life-like movements.
Export
Resulting animations can be saved as image sequences, sprite sheets or video files. This functionality is helpful for quickly integrating content into video games. The output picture quality is customizable.
