Termite is a Windows application for interacting with a wide range of external hardware that connects to the computer via the RS232 port. Instruments for logging incoming data to a text file are provided. Please note that Termite is discontinued and no longer supported by the developer. The installation files are not available.
Connection process
After starting the software you are prompted to select the correct port and communication speed. There is an option to enable handshake functionality on compatible devices as well. The final step is to enter access credentials to establish a link.
Terminal
Users can send text commands to the connected device. Like PhpStorm, this utility supports code autocompletion to reduce the amount of errors and save time. Moreover, it is possible to create custom keyboard macros for quickly executing multiple commands.
Output data is displayed in the main terminal window in real time. You are able to automatically save all received information to a separate text file for further analysis and troubleshooting.
There are instruments for data forwarding between two RS232 ports. This functionality is helpful for creating complex configurations with multiple daisy chained devices.
