Total Recorder is a Windows utility for capturing audio and video output to a file. It is possible to record online broadcasts, copyright protected DVD movies and a wide range of other content.
Capture
After starting the program users can select the source and adjust various recording parameters. There are drop down menus for choosing the correct audio and video devices. Additionally, it is possible to tune the output sound levels.
You are able to change the target file format. Supported codecs include PCM, FLAC, WMA, MP3, MPG, AVI, MKV and many other common containers. The resulting bitrate, quality and sampling frequency are customizable. It is easy to capture the output from Windows Media Player, RealPlayer SP and other media applications.
Please note that Total Recorder is a paid utility. The free trial version automatically inserts random noise sections into output files.
Editing tools
The software allows users to cut, copy, delete and paste individual sections of the recording. Moreover, a collection of audio effects like echo and reverb is provided.
There are instruments for converting media files from one format to another. You can save multiple custom presets for quickly processing large amounts of similar items.
