Whats Running is a Windows utility for optimizing the performance of your computer and troubleshooting various technical issues. It is possible to view the list of all currently opened programs and system processes. There is detailed information about CPU and memory usage.
Main purpose
This software is intended for detecting and terminating unwanted internal processes on the computer. Users can analyze the list of all active DLL libraries, IP connections, hardware drivers and system services to find suspicious items.
Each tab shows details like the name, description, status, processor usage and path. You are able to sort the contents by any column or search for specific instances.
Right clicking an item brings up the context menu for terminating a process, unloading a module or closing a connection depending on the type of service. Moreover, users can view additional information such as version, manufacturer, dependencies, thread count, handles and ports.
Please note that Whats Running is obsolete and no longer supported by the developer. The installation files are not available.
Startup programs
Like in Microsoft PC Manager, you can manage the list of apps that are launched automatically alongside the operating system. It is possible to enable or disable individual items. There is an option to open the registry entry that is associated with a specific product as well.
