WinDVR is a Windows software for recording TV content to video files. Additionally, it is possible to pause, rewind and fast forward live feeds. Supported output formats include MPEG 1, MPEG 4, AVI, WMV and ASF.
Capture process
The main window displays the currently watched TV channel along with the program guide. Similar to Compro ComproDTV, users can schedule future recordings by selecting specific shows.
There is an embedded video editor that lets you trim individual clips. Moreover, tools for adding text overlays to scenes and applying various special effects are provided.
Please note that WinDVR is discontinued and no longer supported by the developer. The installation files are not available.
Configuration
You are able to select correct audio and video source devices in the corresponding section of the Settings menu. The microphone sensitivity level is adjustable.
Instruments for selecting the region from the drop down menu are included. Users can enable closed captions. This functionality is helpful for watching content in different languages. There is a sleep timer for automatically shutting down the computer after recording.
This application is capable of identifying hundreds of TV channels. You can perform a scan to find all available stations.
