Akai VIP is a Windows utility oriented toward professional musicians, producers and composers. It contains tools for combining virtual instruments and effects to create audio tracks. Please note that Akai VIP is distributed on a commercial basis. There is no free trial version. Users can download alternative solutions like Bitwig Studio.
Music production
The main window contains the following tabs:
- instrument;
- effect;
- plugin;
- setlist;
- and store.
You can import audio files in all common formats by dragging and dropping them into the playlist. Moreover, it is possible to compose new chord progressions and aggregations.
There are tools for mixing and trimming separate tracks. Users are able to apply various filters and effects to the song as well. The interface is fully customizable.
Hardware compatibility
This app can be used to provide seamless interactions between your MIDI keyboard controller and recording software. There is full support for the Advance devices from Akai. Alternatively, an option to integrate the utility as a plugin into any major digital audio workstation program is available.
