DataTraveler Vault Privacy is a Windows software for updating internal firmware on Kingston USB Flash drives. It is intended for enabling compatibility with Mac OS X El Capitan and newer.
Installation process
After downloading the archive you can extract its contents to any directory on the hard drive using Winrar Unlock or another similar program. The next step is to start the unpacked executable file and follow the simple on screen instructions to update USB drive firmware. It is important to mention that this utility is compatible exclusively with Kingston DataTraveler storage devices based on the Phison PS2251 13 controller.
What it does
The update enables data transfers between the drive and Mac OS X El Capitan. This functionality is disabled by default due to the advanced encryption algorithms like AES that are integrated into Kingston DT devices. Installing new firmware lets users access protected files. Moreover, there are instruments for encrypting sensitive information on a Mac computer.
It is worth noting that all data will be erased from the USB drive during the update. Administrative privileges are required for integrating the new firmware version.
