Hikvision Local Playback Tool is a Windows utility for managing surveillance equipment from Hikvision such as IP cameras, DVRs and NVRs. Users can search through captured footage to find specific moments.
Monitoring
Similar to UMS Client, the main window contains a section with multiple live feeds from security cameras. You are able to customize the grid layout to match the amount of devices. Additionally, there is fullscreen mode.
Users can scroll through the timeline to locate security events and save them as short clips. Moreover it is possible to change the playback speed and jump between different feeds.
Log
This tab offers you the history of all recorded alerts and motion detection events. Tools for sorting the list by timestamp, alarm type and other attributes are included. The Export button is intended for saving all logged information to a plain text file.
Parameters
The Settings menu lets users change the default screenshot format. Available options are JPG and BMP. The target directory is customizable as well. There is a drop down menu for selecting the maximum video clip filesize. This functionality is helpful for preserving free disk space.
