Magellan Content Manager is a Windows software for working with various models of Magellan GPS navigators. There are tools for updating geographical information, adding custom points of interest and performing other operations.
Device connection
An account on the official website is required for interacting with the program. It is important to mention that Magellan Content Manager is discontinued and no longer supported by the developer. The main website is offline as well.
After logging into the account users can connect the compatible GPS device to the computer via USB cable. Supported hardware will be detected automatically. Detailed information about the installed firmware version, amount of free space and current status is displayed in the main window.
Content updates
You are able to purchase a map for any region worldwide directly from the application and download it to the GPS device. Like in MapSource, it is possible to build custom routes and add personal points of interest. This functionality is helpful for planning long trips.
There are instruments for updating internal firmware. New versions may contain additional functions and bugfixes.
