MioPocket is a special program for Windows CE intended to bring additional features and functionality to portable GPS devices. It works as a frontend unlock which allows you launch the navigation software that came with your product or that you purchase separately.
Package contents
The application distribution comes with just about everything you might need, including three media players, support for a considerable number of file formats, four ebook readers, several dictionaries, GPS instruments, task managers and more.
If you want to see the full list of programs, you can open the Readme document that comes with the installation archive. Please note that MioPocket does not provide MioMap, iGo, Garmin, TomTom or any other commercial navigation software. Their icons are present, but the functionality is not.
Device compatibility
Technically, the program is able to run on any device running Windows CE. Despite its name, it is a flexible and not hard-coded solution compatible with a wide range of brands and configurations. In case you have a Magellan GPS navigator, you may try another tool called Magellan Content Manager.
Some manufacturers include an installation manual for MioPocket. For brands that do not offer setup instructions, there are general guidelines for SD-free deployment. However, it is recommended to check around online to see if and how others have done it.
