UltiMaker Cura is a Windows application for slicing 3D objects into layers. The thickness of each section will affect the quality and speed of the print. Moreover, it is possible to automatically generate infill patterns to increase the resulting strength and weight.
Model preparation
Similar to CHITUBOX, the main purpose of this software is processing 3D objects before sending them to the printer. Tools for slicing models into layers and adding infill patterns are available. Additionally, users can generate support structures for overhanging parts of the project.
There are multiple settings for improving build plate adhesion. This functionality is required to prevent prints from warping and curling. You are able to adjust the temperature of the hot end and print bed separately to accommodate different materials.
G code
Users can manually modify the path of the printing head and other important operation parameters. The integrated G code editor is intended for making fine adjustments to the project.
An option to preview the model before sending it to the printer is included. You are able to evaluate the results and make necessary adjustments before starting the process.
